Youth Programs

Junior Adventure Course  |  Self Discovery Course  |  Challenge Adventure Course

 

 

Our program is designed especially for youth, who in this stage of years, are facing many changes in their attitude and behaviors. The activities Outward Bound® conducts give them the chance to develop their ideas and creativities in a fun and educational way, while enhancing, amongst other things, their self-confidence, self-reliance, sensitivity and tolerance towards others.

This program is devided into three catagories:
 

1. Junior Adventure Course

(2 - 5 Days)

Age Range: 6 -12 (Elementary School)


Between the ages of 6 and 12, children are especially impressionable and easily influenced. At Outward Bound® the training programmes are structured to immerse young participants in character-enhancing activities, aimed at fostering independence and interdependence. Through these, participants can develop:


• An improved sense of self confidence


• A "Can-do" attitude


• A willingness to try new activities


• Tolerance & understanding through communal living


• Learning skills


• A sense of responsibility

 



 


 


 

2. Self Discovery Course

(3 - 8 Days)

Age Range: 13 -18 (High School)


This program is designed especially for teenagers, who in this stage of years, are facing many changes in their attitude and behaviors. The activities Outward Bound® conducts give them the chance to develop their ideas and creativities in a fun and educational way, while enhancing, amongst other things, their self-confidence, self-reliance, sensitivity and tolerance towards others.
 


 

3. Challenge Adventure Course

(5 - 10 Days)

Age Range: 19 -23 (College/University level)


In this range of age, adolescents are to face tough choices in life. At Outward Bound®, a range of activities is introduced throughout the course: Climbing activities like rock climbing and the challenge rope courses are used to develop personal and inter-personal confidence and support. Management processes like problem solving, decision-making, and critical thinking are given a fresh, engaging perspective when teams are presented with challenges such as raft building or 'rescue' operations. These activities are designed to make the participants ready to face future challenges with high motivations and determinations.
